The US Census is a deep resource with valuable information for current and prospective business owners. This seminar will teach you how to raise your awareness of the local community and local competition, research the potential for specific site locations, and other uses. 
You will learn: 
• Basic navigation of the Census website 
• How to access data available from the Economic Census, Demographic and Economic Surveys 
• Demonstration of Census Business Builder, an easy to use business tool allowing quick access to create a local market profile for inclusion into your Business Plan! 
You are welcome to bring your laptop, tablet or other device to work alongside the presenter 

Lia Bolden is a dynamic speaker and a former business owner with over 14 years’ experience with the US Census Bureau. 
She has an extensive background in community initiatives with the Census Bureau, serving in the Partnership and Data Services programs in 2000 and 2010 Census. During the interim years, Lia was a Co-Managing Partner of a consulting firm specializing in providing planning, training and project management services to local communities and organizations engaged in community/ economic development. Lia's workshops are engaging and bring a spark of light to the world of statistics.
